How To: Volumizing Blow Out
Want to add a little extra oomph to your client's blowout? Here's how with Semi Di Lino Volume!
💨 Volume lives at the root. Overdirect at the base & dry the roots 100% first. I typically do this with a boar bristle brush + high tension, pushing each hair in the opposite direction it lays. THIS is how you get volume that LASTS! (Product helps & ive been loving the new @alfaparfusa SDL Volume Spray.
💨 Fine hair is WAY MORE susceptible to break when it’s wet than when it’s dry. I cry when I see people rip through their vulnerable, wet hair with a brush. That’s probably why you’re seeing breakage/why your hair won’t grow girl 😅 you should rough dry fine hair 80-90% before you touch it with a round brush.
💨 Hair is like fabric. Fine, straight hair can get over stretched and over worked VERY EASILY and then the style falls flat. Imagine your favorite jeans, those you wear for days without washing (lol). Eventually, they just don’t fit right because the fabric stretched. Hair is the same! Notice in the video how I don’t focus on the ends at all yet. I don’t rip my brush through them, I let them detangle themselves in the rough dry. That’s because they will easily get overworked and then won't hold shape. Wait until they’re 80-90% dry, then create their shape with a round brush.
